Welcome!
My name is Kimberly Hathaway and I am the Technology Assistant here at Douglas Elementary Magnet School. This is my third year at Douglas and I am enjoying working with all the wonderful students and staff here.
I have a Bachelors degree in Communication and a Masters degree in Elementary Education. I have taught second grade and technology in Wake County Schools. I am currently going back to school for Computer Technology Integration.
This year, our goal is to continue to integrate technology into the classroom. Whether in small groups, whole class, teacher directed, assessments or reinforcement; our goal is to teach students how to navigate their learning with technology.
Internet Safety and Security
As we continue to integrate technology into students’ learning, our priority is to teach students how to be safe on the internet.
Our goal is for every student to become responsible digital citizens.
The Internet is a wonderful resource for students. They can use it to research school reports, communicate with teachers and other kids, and play interactive games. Kids who are old enough to punch in a few letters on the keyboard can literally access the world.
